WHAT WE ARE:
Outpost Productions has been a non-profit arts organization since 1988. In 1990 we moved to our own place--the Outpost Performance Space--a unique and intimate, non-smoking, non-alcohol, alternative performance venue.
WHERE WE ARE:
In the spring of 2000, The Space moved to 210 Yale SE just two blocks south of Central in the heart of the University district. An elegant, nonprofit, no-nonsense, community-based, performing arts center.
WHAT WE DO:
We present a wide variety of music and more--over 100 Shows a year plus Classes and Educational Programs--all kinds of jazz (dixie to bop to modern to the avant-garde); folk, blues & roots music; experimental music; classical music; international music; kid's programs; poetry & spoken word; theater and performance art; puppets; visual arts exhibits; and many other unique events. WE'RE PROUD to present and support the work of local, as well as touring artists--recognized, as well as emerging artists.
HOW WE DO IT:
Outpost Productions is a membersupported organization, also funded by grants (government & foundation), by donations, by corporate sponsorships, by advertising, as well as by ticket sales. IT'S A TEAM EFFORT!
WHY WE DO IT:
We do it because we love it. And because we believe that performers and audiences deserve a place to meet and experience each other, up close, in a casual, but mutually respectful environment.
